The South Tyrolean lowlands lie to the west of the Etschtal Valley. With their mild climate and gently rolling hills, they provide ideal conditions for growing excellent South Tyrolean grapes used in winemaking. Anyone owning a home around here can consider themselves fortunate!

In the south of South Tyrol, on the border with neighbouring Trentino lies the Überetsch / Unterland region. This district comprises 18 municipalities with a total of around 68,000 inhabitants. The A22 Brenner motorway runs through the region.
In the Überetsch region, points of interest include Eppan and Kaltern, and Neumarkt, Tramin, Auer and Leifers in the Unterland region.
Besides tourism, wine and fruit farming (mainly apples) also play a major role in the economy.
A number of small lakes, such as the Kalterer See or the Montiggler See lakes have excellent recreational potential, making the Überetsch / Unterland region a sought-after residential destination.
