Eisacktal / Wipptal
Stretching from Sterzing along the Eisack river to Brixen, the Eisacktal / Wipptal Valley region connects the Stubai Alps to the Dolomites. The Eisacktal Municipal District comprises 19 municipalities with a population totalling 50,000 – with Brixen as the administrative centre. The Wipptal Municipal District comprises 6 towns, with Sterzing as the main centre. The main north-south A22 Brenner motorway cuts vertically through the region.
Other than tourism, the mainstay of the economy is viticulture and a number of building material suppliers are located in the Brixen industrial zone.
High Alpine summits, sun-drenched slopes and picture-postcard villages make the Eisacktal / Wipptal region a fantastic place in which to reside.
