Buying a property in the Dolomites

The jagged peaks of the Dolomites are renowned worldwide. Anyone with a property around these parts is considered highly privileged. Given the stunning terrain, the demand for real estate in the Dolomites region is understandably high, and supply is relatively limited.

Dolomites Region

The Italian Dolomite region extends from the Pustertal Valley to the Valsugana, and from the Sextental Valley to Eisacktal Valley.

Stretching from the Gadertal, the Grödner Tal, Seiser Alm high plateau and the Schlern-Rosengarten National Park, to the Fassatal and Buchenstein, its best-known places of interest include Cortina d`Ampezzo, St. Ulrich, Arabba, Woleknstein, Corvara, San Martino di Castrozza and Canazei.

Tourism is the biggest local economic driver, followed by mountain farming and the production of handicrafts (mainly artistic woodworking and carving in Gröden).

In 2009, the Dolomites were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy international recognition. In summer, visitors from all over converge on these mountains to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and mountaineering. Winter sports include classic or cross-country skiing, skating and snow touring.
